He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Gater; his son Graham Scott Gater; and his brother Herbert Gater. He is survived by: his children, Gordon Gater and Christina Gordon (late Lyn Gordon). He is also survived by his nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.
