He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Choate and Myrtle Choate (Joyes); and his grandson Brendan Gillis. He is survived by: his spouse Dona; his children, Sheri Baker (David), Sarah Gillis (Jeff) and Dan Choate; his stepchildren, Colleen Armstrong (Keith), Karen Fullerton (John), Christine Campbell (Jamie) and Barbara-Anne Elstone (Reid); and his siblings, Dianne Choate and Marilyn Yeo (Ross). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grand-children.
