He is survived by: his spouse Joan Baker (Coates); his daughter Carol Shewen; his grandfather Poppy; his great grandchildren, Aubrey and Jude; his sisters, Pherne McKee (Bill), Joyce Corner and Diane Ferguson; his brother-in-law David Coates (Regina) of Moncton; and also, Karrie Fancy (Andrew) of Oshawa, Bethany Armstrong of Peterborough, Jared Baker (Katelyn) of Lakefield, Melissa Pocket (Garrett) of Haliburton and Trisha Baker of Peterborough.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Young's Point United Church or PRHC Palliative Care.
