He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan; his parents, Wesley and Jemima; his children, Christopher (Heather), Timothy (Nicolas Noriega), Edward and Susan (Joseph Quinlan); his grandchildren, Bethany, Fraser, Olwen and Abigail; and his siblings, Marie McKellar (late Russell), Edna Cape (late Jack) and James.
