He was predeceased by: his parents, John Fitzgerald (Jack) and Madeline McCliggott; his wife Leona Fitzgerald (O'Reilly); his son Leo Fitzgerald; and his siblings, Jean McRae, Joan Fitzgerald, Hugh Fitzgerald (Reta) and Vince Fitzgerald.
He is survived by: his children, Anne Marie Reath (Chris) of Ottawa, Kevin of Peterborough, Sean (Kelly) of Peterborough and Richard Fitzgerald of Peterborough; his grandchildren, Amanda (Jake), Mitchell Reath (Karly), Connor, Jillian, Hadley Fitzgerald and Andrew Leach (Melissa); his great grandchildren, Betty and George Reath; his sister Colleen Davies; and his brothers-in-law, Duncan McRae and Al Davies.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
