She was predeceased by: her husbands, John G. Pierce and Joseph H. Hiland; and her brothers, Frank Schoales and Arthur Schoales. She is survived by: her children, Robert "Bob" Hiland (Kathy) of Manotick, Barb Hiland (Murray Gammie) of Ennismore and Richard Hiland (Cheryl) of Bridgenorth; her grandchildren, Devon (Celina), Joleen (Brian), Liam (Alissa), Kieran (Lynne), Reece and Keltie; and her great grandchildren, Logan, Hailey, Kaelyn, Tegan, Kiera, Torin, McKeeley and Brody.
If so desired, in memory of Eileen, donations to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
