She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband John Akey; her sons, John (Samantha), Ken (Rhonda) and Rob (Tammy); her grandchildren, Brandon (Devon), Brian (Monica), Travis (Maddy), Tyler, Miranda and Alexis; and her great grandchild Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Elsie's memory may be made to Activity Haven as that was Elsie's second home.
