Elsie W. (Moore) Knowles Obituary

It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Elsie W. (Moore) Knowles (Peterborough, Ontario). Born in Fonthill, Ontario, she passed away just after 8 AM on Tuesday April 30, 2024, at the age of 96. In her twilight, Elsie would reminisce about her happiest years: when she and my dad owned and operated the West Guilford Shopping Centre (1974-1980). She could still remember the names of all the staff, and many of the regulars. Fun fact: When West Guilford lost its post office and was in danger of being assimilated into RR2 Haliburton, my mother applied for (and became) Postmaster of West Guilford - thereby saving it's unique postal code: K0M 2S0. Elsie has joined my dad, Ellis (Al) Knowles, who passed away in 2008. If you'd like to leave a message on the memorial page of Elsie W. Knowles, please do.
