He was predeceased by: his children, Dan Slater and Julie Slater; his sibling Thirza Waters; and his brothers-in-law, James Fisher and Bill Waters.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey; his children, Scott Slater (Wendy) and Lori Steiner (David); his grandchildren, Jeff (Brian), Kevin (Diana), Allison (Brandan), Liane, Emma and Kelly; his great grandchild Valentina; his sister-in-law Lillian Fisher; and his nephews, Brian Fisher (Anna), Walter Fisher, Bill Waters (Bonnie) and Al Waters (Michele).
Due to capacity guidelines and social distancing requirements, in person attendance is by invitation, however a live stream will be available.
If you wish, donations can be made in his memory to Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto.
