He was predeceased by: his brothers, Cyril, Fred and Mick. He is survived by: his wife Norma Thurston; his children, Christopher (Donna) of Bath, UK, Stephen, Rose Grainger (Lee), Teresa Newland (Ed), Julie Bozsoki (John), Mark (Danielle) of Bowmanville and Chuck (Christina) of Peterborough Ontario; and his brother Bill (Patsy) of Bristol, UK. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren.
