He was predeceased by: his wife Betty; his parents, Walter Thain of Campbellford and Alma Gummer of Norham; and his brothers, Robert and Murray Thain of Peterborough.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Thain, Cindy Rutledge (Brendan), Deanna Wheeler (Dave), Debbie Pinkney (Eric) and Jamie Thain; his stepdaughter Patti Doleman (Den); his grandchildren, Chad, Kyle, Shannon, Kaitlin, Justin, Sara, Riley, Emma and Bailey; and his great grandchildren, Rory, Fionn, Patrick Isabella and Levi.
