She was predeceased by: her son John; and her parent Stan Shippam. She is survived by: her children, Sharolyn Leithold (Markus), Sue Warrington (Chris White) and Shelley Sparrow (Laurence Mead); her grandchildren, Martine of Scarlett, Wolfgang, Nick (Sarah), Ben (Lindsay), Natalie and Julianna; her great grandchild Bowen; her siblings, Brenda and Grant; and her parent Edna Shippam.

In memory of Joan, donations to the Soroptimist International of Peterborough, Peterborough Humane Society or PRHC's Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
