He was predeceased by: his son Jonathan; his parents, John Konecny and Suzanna Konecny (Tallo); his sister Bess (Konecny); his brother-in-law Les Aho; and his nephew Christopher Aho.
He is survived by: his friend John; his wife Marilyn (Howie); his siblings-in-law, Sharon and Stephen Grant; his nephew Robert Grant (Thi); his great-nieces, Elizabeth and Amelia; his family, Scott Aho (Julie) and Megan Statezny; his cousin Jerry Grabec (Marie); Elizabeth, Jack, Matthew, Stephanie Montgomery (Clay), Alex Chonos (Ethan James), Hallie, Jerry Jr., Paul Grabec (Catherine), Agnes and Josephine.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Highland Park Funeral Centre (2510 Bensfort Rd, Peterborough, ON K9J 1C5).
In memory of John, donations may be made to the Diabetic Organization or to the Palliative Care Unit of the NHH.
