He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Edgerton; his child Russell; and his sister Ethel. He is survived by: his children, Kathy Markwick (Ray), Howard (Dorothy) and Doug (Kelly); his grandchildren, Joe, Andrea, Bonnie, Brad, Chris, John, Bob, Leighanne, April, Amy and Hannah; his great grandchildren, Jace and Mila; and his sister Elda Anderson (Don). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
