He was predeceased by: his significant other Ann Power; his daughter Brenda Zinger; and his parents, John Power and Katherine Power. He is survived by: his children, Sheila O'Brien (George) and John Power (Laurie); his son-in-law Dennis Zinger; his grandchildren, Caitlin Sweeting (Steve), Sean Leahy (Jennifer), Ryan Leahy, Kari Sheehan (Andrew Flay), Jordan O'Brien (Kristen), Wes O'Brien (Jackie), Chris Power (Marissa Darrington) and Justin Power; his stepgrandchildren, Amy Stephens (Charles), Lisa Armstrong (Mitchell), Deanna Cregg (Jonathan) and Eric Zinger (Julia); and his close friend Ann Campbell.
