He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorina Courneya and Dorian Courneya; his sister Catherine McNulty; his parents-in-law, Marie and Robert Whiteside; and his siblings-in-law, Mary, Bobby and Brian.

He is survived by: his spouse Lynn; his children, Paul Courneya and Brittney Courneya (Matt); his brother Joseph Donald Courneya; his sisters-in-law, Carol Whiteside and Sharon Lang; and his close friend Jim Barnes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.
