He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Maize (Wayne), Rex Rose (Mary Anne), Frances Gibson (David), Margaret Phillips (Ted), Patricia Hunt (Bob), Wendy Rose (Brad Smith), Mary Jane Short (Jamie) and John Rose (Andrea); his stepdaughter Lois Cook; his grandchildren, Christy, Mandy, Jeffrey, Catherine, Jennifer, Laurie Lynn, Jonathan, Tyler, Rachel, Cameron, Serena, Jason, Alexander, Sam, Dusty, Angus, Matthew and Luke; and his stepgrandchild Russell. He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.
