He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward McKeown and June Noble; and his brother Garry McKeown. He is survived by: his wife Carol McKeown; his children, Allen McKeown (Elizabeth) and Brenda McKeown (Wayne); his stepchildren, Vikki Duncan (Les), Michelle Duncan (Andrew), Lisa Duncan (Stephen) and Sara Mitchell (Andrew); his grandchildren, Alycia, Spencer, Karson, Lucas, Travis, Mariella, Ryan, Brendan, Alex, Ava, Maeve and Dylan; and his siblings, Rick McKeown (Bernice), Debbie Sutherland (Michael) and Ronnie McKeown.
