He was predeceased by: his grandson Michael Gauthier Jr.; his parents, Donald Smith and Mabel; his brothers, Orvell and Allen; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Langewisch, Ron Rathbun and Helen Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Steven (Wendy), Sue Gauthier (Mike), Cathy Morrison (Warren) and Jim (Lois); his grandchildren, Adam, Ashley (Shane), Alex, Chandra (Mark) and Meaghan; his great grandchildren, Loretta and Erika; his siblings, Grant (Ginny), Aileen Langewisch and Barbara Mowat; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Smith and Jane Rathbun.
