He was predeceased by: his brother Fred (Ruth); and his parents, Amos and Francis. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat"; his children, James "Jim" and Kathryn "Kathy"; his grandchildren, Caleb (Brianna), Shannon (Maaz Sarkar), Matthew and Larissa Smith; his great grandchildren, Ashton and Ellie; and his sister Mary Peckham (Bob).
