He is survived by: his spouse Judy Shanks; his children, Tim Shanks of Massachusetts and Donna Sanders (Shawn) of Peterborough; his grandchild Ethan Sanders; his siblings, Joseph (Gail) of Kingston and Michael (Theresa) of Kingston; his nieces and nephews, Paul Fraser, Kim Stephens (Chris), Pat Shanks, Peggy Shanks-Collis (late Mark), Joan Barr (Scott), Wes Redden (Jenn), Jeff Redden, Wendy Thompson, Bill Thompson and Shelly Faye; his siblings-in-law, Doug Waldorf (Marelyn) and Joan Fraser (Stan); his daughter Janice Rabethge; and also Kieran Barr.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church - Restoration Fund or the Peterborough Renal Clinic.
