She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Eduard Mertin; her sons, Oswald (Gracia) and Harold (Deb); her grandchildren, Natalie Peruzzo (Brian), Caitlin, Adrienne Himes (Russ), Lauren Clark (Garrett), Liam, Sadie, Chase, Wesley and Ivy; and her close friend Hugo Hintz.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Herta's memory can be made to the WRHN Hospital Foundation or Emmanuel Lutheran Church and can be done through the funeral home.
