Though Vern may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Vern touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: Rion. She is survived by: her husband Everett Leach Sr.; her son Everett; her daughter-in-law Kim; her grandchild MacKenzie; her daughter Tara (Keisha); her niece Karen; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kali and Tor. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Paul's On-The-Hill Anglican Church (882 Kingston Rd, Pickering, ON L1V1A8). A burial was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens (1757 Church St N, Ajax, ON L1T4R3).
