John Claude Schoorstra Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on January 26, 2026, at the age of 71, John Claude Schoorstra of Picton, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, John shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid John farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jitze Schoorstra (John) and Lucy Butland. He is survived by: his children, Ryan of Vancouver, BC and Micheal; his sisters, Audrey Purdy of Wellington, Shirley Grainger (John) of Toronto and Joanne Gentile (Stephen) of Marysville; and his nephews, David Purdy and Liam Grainger.
