He was predeceased by : his parents, Waters Russell Wheatley and Gladys Ann Gilchrist; and his wife Mary Elizabeth Gilchrist (Betty). He is survived by : his children, Lynn Ann Gilchrist and Russell Gilchrist (Rusty); and his grandchildren, Ryan Gilchrist-Lewis, Sam Gilchrist-Lewis, Emily Gilchrist and Grace Gilchrist.
