He was predeceased by: his parents, George Benson and Mildred Benson; and his sister Nancy. He is survived by: his wife Cinda; his children, Christine (late Bruce) of Picton, Travis (Amanda) of Picton and Big; his grandchildren, Scarlett, Oaklee, Maxx and Emma; his brother John (Laverne); and his friends, Frank and Heather Walsh. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law, and his many nieces and nephews.
