He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm and Ida; and his brother-in-law Richard Krenz. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Bill, Heidi (Dusty) and Jeph (Edith); his grandchildren, Huck, Maeve, Gus, Angelique and Astrid; and his sister Ingrid. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
