He was predeceased by: his parents, John Houston and Margaret Houston; his brothers, Donald Houston and Wayne Houston; and his sister-in-law Sandra Smith (Gordon Smith).

He is survived by: his spouse Pat; his children, Lori and Michele; his siblings, Joanne (Paul Brown) and Brad (Cindy); and his pets, Xena, Rocky and Chico.
