He was predeceased by: his sister Brenda (Jonathon Shaw); and his parents, Angus Hilts and Marion Hilts. He is survived by: his wife Denise; his children, Angus (Elisa), Emily and Molly (Austin Kuhl); his grandson Hank; his parents-in-law, John and Doris van Trigt; his brother-in-law Steve van Trigt (Carmen); his niece Amanda Shaw; his nephew Adam Shaw (Michelle); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Bria, Harrison Scott, Laura Shaw, Victoria Shaw, Sophia van Trigt and Nadia van Trigt; and his stepparent Gene Hilts.

He had a passion for Cyber Security and was instrumental in getting the program started at Bruce Power and really, across the Canadian Nuclear Industry. He was a super guy as well and always upbeat.
