He was predeceased by : his mother Mary McKinnon; his mother-in-law Florence Schooley; his sister Dorothy Sabbatini; and his brothers-in-law, George Aitken and Vince Schooley.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara; his children, Peter, Angela (Paul Rellinger) of Waterloo and Paul; his grandchildren, Amanda, Carson, Mallory, Paul, Kayla and Bryce; his siblings, Doreen Aitken of Chatham, Pat (Bill Faulhafer) of Waterloo, Jane (John Celentino) of Niagara Falls and Mike (Sue) of Stratford; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Schooley (Shirley) of London and Phyllis Schooley of Stratford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
