He was predeceased by : his parents, Frederick "Ted" and Alice Howie. He is survived by : his children, Tracey Howie (Mark Fleming), Leslie Howie and Doug Howie (Alana Gregor-Howie); and his siblings, Fred Howie (Brenda) and Cheryl Norris (Pat). He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews.

Memorial donations to Christ Church (Anglican), Port Stanley, Last Post Branch 410, Royal Canadian Legion, Port Stanley or SWONT Conductive Education Trust Fund will be gratefully acknowledged.

“I met jim a few years ago when i started coaching minor baseball. He wore his port stanley ball cap with pride everywhere he went. He cared deeply for the kids in the community and wanted them to have the best baseball experience possible. I will remember him fondly whenever i put on my port stanley cap.
