He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Elaine Griffin (Kliman); his stepson Grant Lowe; his siblings-in-law, Sandra Mooney and Gerry Charlebois; his niece Jenny; his nephew Michael; and his parents, Ken Griffin and Cynthia Griffin.

“Elaine, I am heartbroken over Roys' passing. It was so sudden and way too early for you to lose such a wonderful and devoted husband. My memories of many happy dinners go back to 1983. Hors d'oeuvres were definitely your specialty! it's ironic that we actually met for the first time at aerobics at Oakridge School. You were both so frustrated that you gained weight while I lost!
