We bid farewell to Lawrence Townsend (Portland, Ontario), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 4, 2025 at the age of 72. Lawrence touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence and Clara; and his sister Linda (late Harry Barker). He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Christopher (Michelle Kerr) and Angela (William Holder); his grandchildren, Kaleb, Allison, Leanna and Payton; his brothers, David (late Laurie) and Paul Townsend (Susan); his mother-in-law Etta O'Grady; and his in-laws, Bonnie (Oakley Genson), Anne (Rowland Pegg), Theresa (late Del Reil), Mary (late Winston Gifford), Cathy (late Ron Metcalfe), Gerald (Nancy O'Grady), Marlaine (Brian Hart) and Michael (Tracey O'Grady). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion (2314 Harlem Rd, Portland, ON K0G1V0).
In lieu of sending flowers the family asks that people make a memorial contribution to the Canadian Lung Association.
