He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Becky Kohne; his parents, Herbert and Bertha (Young); his siblings, Wilbert, Gerald (Julie), Dorothy Nadrofsky (Leo) and Elmer (Ruby); and his sister-in-law Teddy Privett (Bob).

He is survived by: his significant other Shirley (Campbell); his children, Allen (Lisa), Judy Kohne (Crae), Dorothy Edwards (Paul), Linda Busch (Brian), Kate Wintermute (Dave) and Joan VanMierlo (Ed); his grandchildren, Kimberly (Brad), Jeffery Conrad (Shelby), Crae (Monica), Shane, Michael (Crystal), Kyle (Mallory), Cody Busch (Miranda), Keanan (Faith) and Kali Wintermute (Nick); his great grandchildren, Max, Raya, Ryker, Emerik, Violet, Cohen, Braylon and Owen; and his sister-in-law June Campbell.
