It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Alexander McDermott of Powassan, Ontario, born in Tavistock, Ontario, who passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley McDermott and Mary McDermott (McDonald); his siblings, Don (Nancy), Mary Brady (Robert) and Audrey Weston (Ben); his nieces, Heather Weston and Marnie Litchen; his son-in-law Randy Hornung; and his brother-in-law Ormond McGirr.
He is survived by: his wife Jean; his daughters, Kathryn Edmondson (Jonathan) and Marilee Hornung; his grandchildren, Caroline (Alexander Stevenson), Katie (Liam Parker), Christopher Edmondson, Alexander and Nicholas Hornung; and his sister-in-law Beth McGirr.
