He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Moore (Ackland) and Kenneth Moore; his sister Karen Race; and his niece Bridget Race. He is survived by: his wife Beverley; his stepson Jason McChesney (Sara); his grandchildren, Nellie, Rachel and Ewan; his sisters, Deborah (Percy) and Melanie Moore-Boisvert (Kevin); and his brother-in-law Robert Race. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
