He was predeceased by: his wife Bernice (Mau); his parents, Charles Layman and Cora Layman (Kosmack); his children, Karen (John Hoffman), Kerry Layman (Colette) and Kirk Layman (Christine); his grandchildren, Jennifer, Greg, Kyle, Renee and Derekand Brandon; his great grandchildren, Wynter, Bryce, Casey, Caden, Rhett and Asher; and his sister Lois (late Garnet Kranz).

He is survived by: his siblings, Glenn Layman (Mary) and Marlene (late Keith Schleen). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
