She was predeceased by: her husband Garfield; her parents, Herman Carlberg and Lucy Carlberg; and her siblings, Doris Kobayashi, Wray and David Carlberg.

She is survived by: her children, Kim (Gary Schreider) and Cheryl (Drake Yakaback); her grandchildren, Meaghan (Bradley Carter), Ryan Schreider (Samantha Kenny), Brendan Schreider (Hailey Carisse), Brianna and Jarett Laking; her great grandchild Olivia Carter; and her siblings-in-law, Keith Thompson (Bea), Shig Kobayashi, Eleanor Pae (Colin), Roberta Walsh and Jeanne Carlberg.

In memory of Margaret, donations can be made to Renfrew Victoria Hospital or the Ottawa Heart Institute.
