“I’ll miss Marlene, she was a warrior for Justice and for women’s rights. She suffered some dreadful losses in her life but always remained positive and practical. If she ever succumbed to despair, she never showed it. She created the Victim Witnesses Assistance Program at the Crown Attorney’s office—a first in Renfrew County. She was a proud Ottawa Valley woman, and a genuine Ottawa Valley character.”
