He was predeceased by : his wife Joan Blimkie; his grandson Mitchell; his brother Raymond; and his parents, Patrick Blimkie and Clare Blimkie.

He is survived by : his children, David (Maureen), Steven (Kimberly), Alan (Katherine) and Kim; his grandchildren, Mel, Rebecca (Matthew), Travis, Kristopher (Emily), Briana (Greg), Justine (Phil), Kaitlyn and Abigail; his great grandchildren, Elliott, Adaline, Charlotte, Evelyn, Elise and August; and his siblings, Lawrence (Yvette), Melba (late Boyd), Ruth (Fred), Carol and Gail (late Ron). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
