He was predeceased by: his mother Edith Kent; his parents-in-law, Gerald (Bucky) and Ellen King; and his brothers-in-law, Albert (Linda), Joe and Sam.

He is survived by: his wife Jane; his children, Jennifer, Hillary and Tricia; his grandchildren, Chase, Pierce and Reid; his father Harold Kent; his siblings, Glen (Shirley), Arlene (Dan), Brenda (Steve) and Cindy (Sandy); his brothers-in-law, Wayne (Carol) and Ross (Linda); and his friends, Philip and Larry. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations (payable by cheque) to the Matthews Memorial Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
