Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Cook Obituary
We announce the death of Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Cook (Richmond Hill, Ontario), who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 99. Mary Elizabeth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her sister Alverna Hill; her in-laws, Mitford, William Fowler, Harry Hill, Bruce Lloyd, Catherine and Leigh Robertson; her parents, John Eachern (Jack) and Gertrude Smith; Walter Samuel Cook (Sam).
She is survived by: her children, Vickery Bowles (Wayne), Andrew Cook (Susan Nyilas) and Alison Cook (Corey Tkachuk); her sister Eleanor Lloyd; and her grandchildren, Aimee, Lauren, Connor Bowles, Madelyn, Mackenzie, Samantha Cook, Georgia, Matthew and Andrew Tkachuk. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Marshall Funeral Home (10366 Yonge St, Richmond Hill, ON L4C3B8). A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church, Richmond Hill United Church, or Victoria College at the University of Toronto.
