She was predeceased by : her mother Fanny Simpson; and her former life partner Wayne Earley. She is survived by : her husband Bill Denike; and her children, Peter (Kristen Payne) and Beth.

“I would like to offer my sincere sympathy to Lee Ann's family. I went to school with Lee Ann, played kick-the-can in her front yard when we were young. I trained with her in Chatham but unfortunately have not seen her since our last nursing reunion. This is a very sad time. Take care, my thoughts are with the family. Anne Rutledge Thompson.”
