He is survived by : his children, Lennie (Tracy), Shane and Derek Johnston (Kelly); his grandchildren, Shelby and Cole Johnston; and his siblings, Bill Johnston (Margie) and Barb Hansen (late Harry). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

“To all members of the Johnston family, you have our deepest condolences. Bob was a truly great guy, good friend for almost 30 years and will be missed. I met Bob at a Canadian Association for Family Enterprise meeting in Chatham in 1994 and we became part of a Personal Advisory Group with three other folks from 'family businesses'. We've met pretty much once a month ever since then and if you do the math, that's impressive! He may be gone, never forgotten. Randy Cyr”
