Barbara (Gibson) North Obituary

It is with sadness and great gladness and thanksgiving that we announce the passing of Barbara North (nee Gibson) on February 9, 2023 after a short illness at home. Barb was born in Blackpool, England 92 years ago and has gone into Glory to be with her Lord and Saviour. Beloved wife of C. Steve North (2013), dear Mum of Sharon and Steve, Nana to Christopher, Andrew, Samantha, Mathew and Frankie and Great Grandmother to Henry. Barbara's greatest joy was taking care of her family and studying the Scriptures, always ready to engage others and share her belief and opinions. Her favourite verse was Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". This was especially true when she went to Israel at the age of 86 and rode the back seat on a camel (not realizing that a camel stands with his back legs first!). She loved making crafts and could always be counted on to do something special for those she loved (especially chocolate bar boards) as well as making up gift bags to be given to those less fortunate. As per her wishes, there will be no service and cremation has taken place. The family would like to give a special shout out to the Nurses and PSW's who helped make her last days comfortable (Dani, Susan, Sushma, Clair and Sally and the countless others who only met her once or twice - you truly were a huge help to Mum and I know that she appreciated all that you did for her). Donations in memory of Mum can be made to the Niagara Dream Centre, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) or to Christians For Israel (C4I).
