He was predeceased by: his parents, John Alex and Mary MacKinnon (Gillis); his brothers, Rannie, John, Raymond, Donnie and Joey; and his sister-in-law Linda MacKinnon.

He is survived by: his wife Ellie (Adams); his children, Mike Jr. "Mick" (Kathy), Tara Charters (Ken), Jodi MacKinnon and Nadine Konig (Ingo); his grandchildren, Kieron, Justin, Sydney, Lydia, Avery, Cooper, Gero, Sandro, Elliot and Ivy; his siblings, Mary Larade (Pat), Agnes Grundy (Paul), Ambrose and Albert (Martina); and his sisters-in-law, Lorna MacKinnon and Sharon MacKinnon.

Memorial donations to VETS Canada- Veterans Assistance would be appreciated by the family.
