He was predeceased by: his daughter Raquel Zmija (Rikki); his parents, Alvin Zmija and Dorothy Zmija; and his brothers, Wayne and Stephen.

He is survived by: his wife Victoria (Bilitz); his children, Billy Zmija (Shelly) and Nicole Zmija (James Burt); his grandchildren, Andrew, Jessica, Brandon, Wayne and Ethan; his sisters, Sharon Carey (John) and Brenda Zmija; his sister-in-law Helga Bilitz; and his siblings' children, Ryan and Shannon.
