He is survived by: his wife Julie Near; his children, Melissa Near (Terry) and Jeff Near (Amanda); his grandsons, Alex Humphrys (Josh) and Asher Near; his siblings, John Near (Shirley), Robert Near (Norma), Karen Shelby (late Kent), Dennis Near (Bert) and Marcia Near; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Healy, Gloria Ross (Wayne) and Bridget Pearson (Tim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
