He was predeceased by: his parents, Sydney Smith and Mildred Smith; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Hazel Wivell. He is survived by: his wife Heather Smith; his children, Kathleen Durfy (James) and Ryan Smith (Christine); his grandchildren, Colin, Evan, Nathan, Sydney, Hannah and Owen; his brothers-in-law, Paul Wivell (Jen) and Peter Wivell (Vicki); his nieces, Stephanie (Tyler) and Kaitlyn; his nephew Jakob; and his great-nephew Jack.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Lockhart Funeral Home (109 Montreal St, Mitchell, ON N0K1N0). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
