She was predeceased by : her husband Dr. Donald Crapper-McLachlan; and her sons, Colin McLachlan and Cameron McLachlan. She is survived by : her daughters-in-law, Rachel Gore and Holly McLachlan; her grandchildren, Dawson, Ash and Helen McLachlan; and also Cathy Baer (family: Ron, Carolyn, Angela).
As one of Canada's prominent physician-scientists, Don was awarded an Order of Canada in 1990 for his contribution to research into neurodegenerative diseases and was instrumental in the founding of the Tanz Center located within the University of Toronto.
